Our office is planning to start advertising with our local radio station, KMAS, AM 1030 in Shelton. We’ve not done this before, especially on a regular basis. We have been accustomed to using a lot of newspaper and magazine ads, as well as the Internet. With the kind of market real estate is experiencing now we are ready to try things that we’ve not tried before. In fact, we are discovering it is sort of fun to think about a motto for the ongoing ads on radio, and things like that.
The local station is pretty popular, and carries local sports, some easy listening music, and Mariners baseball. I think our owner had a great idea when she decided to put us on radio. I’m not exactly sure of our starting date. We are going to meet with someone to plan out the ads.
Finding a way to advertise not only our listings but our office is a growing challenge in a changing world. More of us agents are getting on social networks, like Facebook and Twitter. We also use every avenue we can think of to get our listings out in cyberspace — on Google, Yahoo, etc. Since most people start their home searches on the Internet, if you are not out there in several places your listings are not going to be seen. It can feel daunting at times to keep up with it all, so it’s a good thing that some of us really enjoy it.
But radio is something that seems to be enduring down through the ages. I find this fact very interesting. I know that I automatically turn on the radio when I get in my car, especially here in Mason County where the distances between here and there can be miles. I look forward to seeing what difference being on the radio makes for our office. I’ll report back on this once we have something to report about.
